The Name Grace

I've always really liked my name (not too be braggy) and liked that I was named it for a reason. Whether I was named after the family dog, my amazing grandma J, or Grace Kelly it's been a good inspiring name that I've felt like I've had to live up to. I mean I'm not graceful and never really have been but I use to look up my name in the bible dictionary and topical guide and make goals to be more like the scriptures and words that I read.  "divine means of help or strength, given through the bounteous mercy and love of Jesus Christ." (BD) Kids used to get really excited when we read this scripture in church/seminary and I was there. "It is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.”

So I've bragged about my name enough and now my name is super popular with little girls so I'm sharing it with a lot more people but today I'm very excited to share it with a sister in my ward, Sister Grace. Sister Grace teaches Relief Society; she's from Ghana; she reminds me of the warmness and excitement I felt in the ward in Kenya; she should be a motivational speaker because she says great things in a thick African accent. I love her lessons and listening to her talk.  Today she got up and kept saying "Stop Comparing, we are all individuals" over and over. Telling us to stop comparing ourselves with our families, friends, and people around us and to start praying for people. "We are different from everyone around us. Let us accept that, and pray for others." I just wanted to hug her.
